On Tuesday, February 7th, the NEA Co-op has brought the opportunity to us to allow juniors who have never taken the ACT, need to bump up their score, or need a better understanding of the test to come to virtual ACT prep presented by CW. Mrs. Sarah Cooper will present this on a TV in a classroom where you will come from 9-3:00pm and go through each of the ACT topics and hopefully learn some needed skills to prepare you for the ACT.
Juniors, please fill out both links if you are wanting to attend: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdxwvTG_bqXuvopMsQg9JT02nnfMhJqLBSu_CyjwlK1TByhGw/viewform

The Class of 2026 is hosting a fundraiser! See the attached flyer for more information!
On November 29th, the Jonesboro Sun printed an article about PHS 10th grader, Jadyn Brown being selected to attend the "Congress of Future Medical Leaders" at the University of Massachusetts Lowell campus. In case you missed it, we included a snapshot of it in our "better late than never" series. Congratulations Jadyn! Your Ram family is proud of you!
The Miss PSD Pageant is going to be held on January 28, 2023. The deadline to register is January 21st. See the attached for information and the QR code to register.
The PHS FFA adopts a family each year through our counselor's office as one of their service projects. Enjoy a few pictures of the students wrapping this years gifts. Also included in this edition of our "better late than never series" are a few pictures from our PHS Agricultural Department. Walmart donated seeds that were then sorted and will be used in the garden kits the Agri students plan to make and give to Rams in lower grades this spring. We have the best students and staff!
Still in the "better late than never" series is news from our Ram Academy. 9th - 12th grade counselors, Paige Yawson and Stacey Horn, met with students to develop a "Student Success Plan" that will help them plan for their academic future. Francesca Shearer, the PHS Career Coach met with 11th graders to map out their next steps toward the college or career of their choice. Officers Beasley and Hall (SRO) completed Part 1 of the program "Smart Choices, Better Chances". In this 4 part series, students will learn about city and state laws and how they affect our youth. As if all of that wasn't enough ~ Nicole Babcock, Community Health Nurse Specialist and former PHS nurse, came to campus during Red Ribbon Week to present "A Dose of Reality" which explains the dangers of abusing prescription medicine.
First National Bank is next up in our "better late than never series" . They donated 150 hygiene kits to our PHS clothing closet. The kits will come in handy when we have students or families in need. Thank you to Neely Camp for organizing and delivering the kits.

You know the saying "better late than never"? Well, we hope you will embrace that thought because we have some pictures and posts that need to be made and some of them are a tad late. Let's get started with this one. Olivia Hancock, PHS graduate and former Key Club member, spoke to current Key Club and Rotary Interact members in November about her experience at West Point. She was also the guest speaker at the Kiwanis luncheon at Grecian that same week.
Welcome back RAMS!!
School resumes from winter break Thursday, January 5th. Let's have a great second semester!
Get ready for an overabundance of posts to celebrate all the goodness going on in PSD! (And don't forget about WinterFest happening tonight in the PJHS gyms - bring your family for a GREAT time!)
Pictured below is Melissa Lamb, our Work Ready teacher and JAG Specialist. This past summer, the Paragould High School JAG achieved "5-of-5" for the 5th year in a row! This means our JAG students from the previous year met the NATIONAL performance outcome standards in these 5 areas:
Graduation Rate
Employment Rate
Positive Outcomes
Full-time Employment
Further Education
Only 25 of the 116 programs in Arkansas met the minimum standards for this honor! Way to go, Mrs. Lamb and students - keep up the OUTSTANDING work!
Lots of events happening over the next few days in Ram Nation and we'd like to invite ALL Ram Fans to join us! Tonight we honor Senior Football players at 1812 Pizza from 4:00 - 5:30pm; Monday is the Fall Athletic Awards program for grades 7 - 12; and Tuesday is the 1st Ever WinterFest presented by our Baseball and Softball teams.
