Do a quick Google search and you will see there are more than 32,000 teachers in the state of Arkansas. What it won't tell you is that yesterday, two of PSD's 4th grade teachers, Julia Sleeper and Farrah Wilcox, were recognized as high impact teachers for multiple years of high student growth. Only 50 teachers in Arkansas achieved this high honor and Mrs. Sleeper and Ms. Farrah are the only two in NEA! Pictured with our high impact teachers is Ivy Pfeffer, Deputy Commissioner of the Arkansas Department of Education who presented them with their award. They will be participating in focus groups for the DESE this summer. Congratulations! We are proud of you!
It's senior awards day at PHS. If you can't attend, watch live using the link below!

OGMS EAST students Eden Treece and Zoe Stallings met with the Fraternal Order of Police to propose a potential EAST project. Eden and Zoe want to help fund (2) $500 scholarships for graduating PHS EAST seniors. They want to give back to the students that made such a positive impact on the program that they love. Community partners, White Inc. and Downtown Nutrition have already funded a portion of the scholarship. OGMS SRO Stephen Pace presented Eden and Zoe with a check this morning for the remaining amount needed to make this project a reality! Next Eden and Zoe will collaborate with the High School and Jr High EAST programs to finalize an application process before selecting the recipients to be awarded at the Senior awards assembly on May 5th at PHS! Huge thank you to our community partners, White Inc., Downtown Nutrition, and The Fraternal Order of Police! Way to go, Rams!

Wishes really do come true; just ask 9-year-old Ay'Den whose wish came true today at Ram Stadium thanks to our friends at Make-a-Wish and the PHS Rotary Interact Club. Ay'Den was treated to a pep rally complete with music, dancing, adoring fans, ATA Martial Arts, and PRESENTS!
Congratulations to the PHS Rotary Interact Club and sponsor, Sara Dickey! They have raised $8,000 and are granting a child's wish through Make-A-Wish today at 1:30pm at Ram Stadium. They are thrilled to get to do this for Ay'Den who is 9 years old. A HUGE thanks to everyone who helped to make this possible by purchasing bed sheets since their 2018 wish presentation. Be sure to see the beautiful yard card for Ay'Den on the corner of Court and 49, which was generously shared by I GOT CARDED.
Way to go, PSD! We won the blood battle between PHS and GCT with the help of staff, students and the public. In the end though, the real winners are the potential 510 lives saved by the schools coming together to donate blood.
