Did You Know breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women? In 2021, it's estimated that about 30% of newly diagnosed cancers in women will be breast cancer. Join us in the fight against breast cancer. Here are a few of our faculty and staff members who wore their RETRO Dig for the Cure shirts or pink today. Head over to the PSD Facebook page to see even more photos and to post your own!
Show your support - wear pink this week and come out to the 14th Annual Dig for the Cure this Thursday at Doc Paynter Court as your Lady Rams take on their crosstown rivals!

Dig for the Cure is THIS Thursday, September 30th. Starting today we will be posting some "Did You Know?" facts and stats about breast cancer AND our faculty and staff will be wearing RETRO Dig for the Cure shirts or pink this week to bring awareness to breast cancer. We'd love for you to join us in wearing pink too! Comment on one of our posts with your picture and a message of hope for this year's 3 honorees:
April Vanaman Biggs
Amber Vanaman
Julie Lamb Milligan
"The overall death rate from breast cancer decreased by 1% per year from 2013 to 2018. These decreases are thought to be the result of treatment advances and earlier detection through screening." Did You Know the proceeds from Dig for the Cure go to 3 local entities? St. Bernard's Imaging Center, AMMC's Project Hope, and NEA Baptist Hospital's Hope Circle.

The Paragould School District senior high football game scheduled for Friday, September 3 at Rivercrest has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. Currently 15 football players have been quarantined. While it is unfortunate to lose any game on our schedule, we will always put the safety of our student athletes first.
The game against Rivercrest cannot be rescheduled. According to AAA guidance, if a senior high non-conference football game is cancelled due to COVID-19, the game is considered a no contest. Our next game will be played on Friday, September 10 at home against Pocahontas.

Last week we began introducing our new staff/faculty members and highlighting those who changed positions within the Paragould School District. Tonight we would like to say welcome and congratulations to the following Rams:
Gary Jackson (Paragould High School)
Abby Taylor (Paragould Primary)
Angela Mears (Baldwin Elementary)
Wayne Conner (Oak Grove Elementary)

The Paragould School District approved a Communicable Disease COVID-19 Exposure Control Plan on August 12, 2021. This plan will require all students and staff in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve to wear a mask or face covering while in public indoor settings and on school buses unless able to socially distance. The plan also includes a student mask opt-out form available to the parents of preschool through grade one students. By completing the opt-out form, parents are authorizing their child not to wear a mask while at school. The district will review the mask requirement approximately every 30 days or at each regularly scheduled school board meeting.
Both the Communicable Disease COVID-19 Exposure Control Plan and the PreK-1 Student Mask Opt-Out Form are available on the district website. To access the documents select the red button titled COVID-19 INFORMATION. To provide us with feedback please select the red button titled UPDATED READY TO LEARN DOCUMENT AND PUBLIC COMMENT.
