Today, during 3rd period, 10/12th grade students will be taking the APNA Survey. Information on this survey is as follows: Our school is participating in a statewide needs assessment survey. The survey, Arkansas Prevention Needs Assessment Student Survey, is sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Human Services. The results will be used to help plan substance abuse prevention strategies and programs in our community. Some important facts about the survey: 1) It is anonymous. Students will not put their names on the survey. No one will be able to connect any individual student with his or her responses. School staff will not see any student responses. 2) Participation in the survey is voluntary.A student may decline to participate at any time or skip any question they do not wish to answer. Questions cover alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and family and community factors related to substance use and abuse.

On September 19, 2024 a group of 20 Paragould High School gifted and talented students attended a St. Bernards robotics day competition. Our PSD students were provided with the opportunity to experience what it is like to use a surgical robot. We would like to congratulate our Paragould students and staff for winning the competition. The 2024 PHS Homecoming assembly will take place tomorrow, October 25th beginning at 1:30pm in the high school gym. Parents/family members wishing to attend may do so, there will be reserved seating on the visitors side of the gym, doors will open at 1:00pm and all visitors may enter through the main doors of the gym. This event will also be live-streamed through the Paragould Ram Sports Network on YouTube, we will send out a link tomorrow.

On Monday, 10/21, the Paragould Pride Band has a competition at Ram Stadium, due to this, a very large portion of the student parking lot will be blocked off for visiting bands. Student drivers will need to utilize parking that is not blocked off and parking by 10-fitness and the medical plaza behind the school campus on Medical drive. There will be directors assisting with traffic on Monday for student parking and car-line.

In addition, students in grades K-3 recently completed the ATLAS Screener. You can access information about your child’s performance through the ATLAS Family Portal. Homecoming week kicks off this Sunday night with a "Movie Under the Stars" event on the Paragould High School campus - all Rams welcome! So bring your blankets and lawn chairs and join us as we watch "Alice in Wonderland". Gates open at 6:15pm and the movie starts at 7:00pm. No cost to enter. Concessions will be available.

Just a reminder, Parent-Teacher conferences will be held this evening from 4:00-7:00pm. Teachers will be located in their classrooms. Interim reports may be picked up at the front entrance. As always, grades can also be accessed online through Home Access Center (HAC). There is a link to this on the school website. Also, financial aid Information will be held in the auditorium beginning at 5:00pm. We encourage seniors and parents to attend if you have any questions regarding financial aid!

The Paragould School District has been made aware of a random social media post with language referencing a fire alarm, etc. Although the post was random, and not specifically directed towards the Paragould School District, authorities were notified. Out of precaution, additional officers will be on site tomorrow. Parents are encouraged to check their child's social media for any concerning behavior. All threats are taken seriously and investigated. Any students caught making threats or sharing random threats on social media may face possible criminal charges. Student safety is and always will be paramount within our school district.
