The Paragould Primary is located in the northeast corner of Arkansas, approximately twenty miles from Arkansas State University. Our community is progressive and moving in the right direction. According to the 2020 Census the population of Paragould has increased by more than 13% over the past decade. We are proud of local businesses, historical landmarks, and recent construction projects. This includes the construction of our preschool through grade one building which opened in August, 2013. Paragould’s investment in education is making a positive difference for students, parents, and teachers.
Our faculty and staff consist of approximately 90 teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, food service workers, custodians, and other support staff. We implement a well documented, systematic and continuous improvement process for improving student learning and the conditions that support learning. Our commitment to continued growth and development is reflected in efforts to network with colleagues through grade level meetings, professional learning communities, and the response to intervention process.
We focus on the development of the whole child, encompassing the social, emotional, physical and cultural needs alongside the academic and intellectual progress of our students. The driving force of what we do comes from knowing our students; their needs, characteristics and well-being. We recognize the fact that teachers must not only know subject content, but also the students with whom they wish to teach that content. We believe that positive relationships are an essential part of a productive learning environment.
We feel strongly that optimal learning outcomes require strong home-school partnerships. We recognize the responsibility of teachers to provide families with an understanding of instructional programs and the strategies that they can use to help their child be successful. Programs that encourage families to support their children’s education in meaningful ways have been designed and will be implemented throughout the school year. Our faculty and staff are committed to the process of productive communication, collaboration, and shared decision making.
