Virtual Parents:
Over the course of the year, we will be using STAR benchmark testing to check your child's reading and math skills. This is a test and all students in 5th and 6th grade take, typically in their math or language arts classes. Since your child is virtual, this test will need to be given at home.
Please make sure their testing environment is free from distraction; we need them to concentrate and do their own work on this test. We use their scores on these tests to see how well they are truly doing, where they may need to improve or where they have strengths.
Attached is a slide show that gives basic instructions for how your child can get on to Renaissance to take the tests. Their virtual math and language teachers will have already asked them to take the first test last week. If they did NOT take the test last week, they need to do so THIS week.
