The Paragould School District Advanced Learning Progam will host an ACT Boot Camp in preparation for the April 13th ACT exam. The boot camp will be held at Paragould High School, where students will receive instructions in English, reading, math, and science reasoning, related to ACT testing. Lunch will be provided from Papa John's Pizza for the students. PHS is offering a self-defense class for interested females in the 12th grade. The class will be held in the gym. Those who are interested in taking the class need to sign up in student services. The students who are approved to take the class will be notified prior to the class and informed on what to bring/wear to the class. The class will be taught by two of our School Resource Officers who are trained to teach these tactics. Space is limited so sign up in the student services if you are interested.

The program allows students (ages 15-18) an opportunity to volunteer in a hospital setting where they will explore careers and gain experience in helping others. Participants will gain hands on experience in surgery, laboratory, nursing, radiology, rehabilitative services, exercise science, pharmacy and more! It will be a three-week session where we will accept 16 student into the program. the session will be held from July 12-August 2. *Remember, all High School students that are 15-18 years of age are eligible to apply. Deadline for applying is Friday, April 26. Applications are in the counselor's office.
