Greene County Community FOUNDATION.....there are Online scholarships and there are PHS designated scholarships. Don't wait for the last minute! Lots Local Money! Amounts vary! **For the online scholarship go to www.arcf.org/scholarships. Create your account and you will take a short survey asking you questions to determine which ones you qualify for. Then a list of scholarships will pop up for you to start applying!! **For the PHS Designated Scholarships you need to pick up the paper application in my office!! There are 7 scholarships listed that PHS students can receive!

Arkansas senior in the pursuit of a post-secondary degree in plant science related field, including but not limited to horticulture, botany, agronomu, forestry, plant science, landscape architecture/design, and turf management. *The first scholarship is the Janet B Carson Scholarship. This scholarship is in the amount of $1000.00 *The seond is the 2019 Agriculture/Horticulture Scholarship provided by the Greene County Master Gardeners. This scholarship is in the amount of $500.00. Copies of both scholarship applications are in folders outside my office door!

Project H.E.A.R.T. Mini Medical Summer Camp on the ASU campus will be June 11-14. Project H.E.A.R.T. is open to students entering the 11th 0r 12th grade with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. There is no cost to the student if they are chosen to attend. Applications can be picked up in the counselors office. Deadline to apply March 1.

St. Bernards Jr. Volunteer Summer Program is now accepting applications! The program allows students ages 15-18 an opportunity to volunteer in a hospital setting where they will explore careers and gain experience in helping others. Participants will gain hands on experience in surgery, laboratory, nursing, radiology, rehabilitative services, exercise science, pharmacy and more! it will be a three-week session where we accept 16 students into the program. The session will be held from July 12-August 2. *Remember, all High School students that are 15-18 years of age are eligible to apply. Deadline for applying is Friday, April 26. Applications are in the counselors office.

 UCA, Acxiom High School IT Careers Camp

Every day from February 21, 2019 to February 22, 2019

High school students interested in learning more about a possible career in information technology can now register to attend the UCA/Acxiom IT Careers Camp set for June 26-29. The camp is free, thanks to funding provided by Acxiom, and is open to all students entering grades 9-12 in the fall. Previous participants are welcome to apply. The four-day, three-night camp will introduce students to college and career opportunities in information technology in an interactive, engaging environment. Campers will compete in teams to design the best webpage using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, learn programming with Raspberry Pi and participate in a robotics workshop. Students will also visit Acxiom and Makerspace. IT professionals will also be on-hand at the camp and serve as mentors to the students. All meals are provided and campers will be housed in New Hall for the duration of the camp. Applications are accepted through February 22. Contact Jim Downey, Chair of the the MIS Department at UCA, if you have any questions.
